Italian & American Playwrights Project

Dec 14, 2017 6:30 PM - 9 PM Teatro Vascello, Via Giacinto Carini, 78

THE ITALIAN AND AMERICAN PLAYWRIGHTS PROJECT HAS THREE PRINCIPAL GOALS:

  1. To raise the awareness of contemporary Italian and American writing for the stage in the Americas  and in Italy and to foster the development of collaborative relationships between playwrights from Italy and American theatre artists and vice versa.

  2. To facilitate the collaborations between the authors, translators, directors, actors, publishers, and producers through workshops, meetings and exchanges in Italy and in US.

  3. The publication of a translated anthology of the selected plays.

Tonight's event is the first production of American plays translated and performed in Rome. Excerpts from three American female playwrights will be performed, followed by a discussion with the playwrights and IAPP curator Valeria Orani.
